Self-Driving Coalition Statement on New Senate Commerce Committee Legislation

Washington -- Today, the Self-Driving Coalition for Safer Streets released the following statement from general counsel David Strickland on new legislation in the Senate Commerce Committee:

“We thank the Senate Commerce Committee for their leadership and commitment to making self-driving a reality on America’s roads. In order to support the technology’s full safety and mobility potential, the Coalition believes it is important that federal legislation facilitates the testing and deployment of the technology, provides for a single national framework for vehicle safety and performance standards, and includes all types of motor vehicles.”
