WASHINGTON - Today, the Autonomous Vehicle Industry Association released the following statement on the release of the bipartisan BUILD America 250 Act:

“AVIA commends Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larsen on the release of the BUILD America 250 Act. Their legislation takes a bold step forward in establishing a federal policy framework for autonomous commercial motor vehicles in the U.S. Such a framework will allow the U.S. to remain the global leader in autonomous vehicles and beat China," said AVIA CEO Jeff Farrah. "The BUILD America 250 Act takes decisive action on key regulatory matters impacting autonomous trucks, including the use of safety-enhancing warning beacons and requiring performance standards for commercial motor vehicles.
