How is your company advancing autonomous vehicles?

Avride is developing advanced autonomous driving technology. While our primary focus is on passenger cars (robotaxis), our core technology also seamlessly powers our sidewalk delivery robots. Our progress is driven by a highly experienced team of engineers and researchers. We possess outstanding expertise in both software and hardware, having worked together at the forefront of autonomous driving since 2017. Today, our technology is actively scaling in commercial environments. We have successfully launched our robotaxis on the Uber platform in Dallas, completing over 60,000 autonomous passenger trips as of May 2026, and we continue to rapidly expand our operations to meet growing demand.

What’s an example of a challenge your company is trying to solve for?

Urban mobility faces ongoing challenges as the demand for ride-hailing continues to grow rapidly. Cities need scalable and highly efficient transportation solutions that can keep up with this demand without compromising passenger safety. The ultimate challenge we are solving at Avride is building autonomous technology that drives safer and more reliably than a human. Recent breakthroughs in AI, machine learning, and hardware have made it possible to process complex, chaotic city environments in real-time with unprecedented precision. By leveraging these technological advancements, we aim to meet the surging need for on-demand transit while providing a consistently premium, safe experience for every rider.

Why is the work of your company important?

Our work is fundamentally important because we want to make roads drastically safer and urban transportation more accessible. We approach safety with absolute rigor and engineering discipline.

Our entire engineering culture is grounded in a strict, evidence-based methodology known as C-A-E: Claim, Argument, Evidence. We do not operate on assumptions. First, we make a distinct safety claim. Second, we defend that claim with a logical, structural argument. Finally, we back that argument up with undeniable, data-driven evidence. Only when the evidence fully satisfies the argument do we move forward. This highly structured approach allows us to turn the unpredictable nature of city streets into manageable parameters, ensuring we are building a genuinely safer future for our communities.

What policy solutions are most important for your company?

The successful and safe deployment of autonomous vehicles cannot happen in a vacuum – it requires constant, close collaboration between policymakers and technology developers. We believe the most effective policy solutions are those born directly from this partnership. By working hand-in-hand with regulators at the local, state, and federal levels – along with first responders – we can create practical, forward-looking frameworks that ensure public safety while continuing to foster innovation. This collaborative approach is essential for building public trust and smoothly integrating autonomous ride-hailing into the broader transportation ecosystem.
